DAY Electrical Bestwood Village, Garden Lighting in Newstead Village

Client Brief

Our garden is really dark at night and we would like to try and light up the pathways and place some feature lighting dotted around the flowerbeds. We already have a socket in the shed so could we put a light switch in the shed to prevent having to run a new cable from the house as the patio has already been laid?

Our Solution

To install 12V LED strip lights mounted on the underside of the planter. This gives an indirect subtle light that consistently lights the pathways around the flower bed.

We used GU10 spike lights throughout the flowerbed to provide a decorative touch.

We suggested to the customer that a switch inside the house would be a better option allowing them to switch the lights on/off without going out to the shed.

To achieve this we utilised the socket in the shed to feed a wireless quinetic receiver and mounted a 2 gang switch inside the house by the patio doors.
